
Newport Police Launch Murder Inquiry After Mother and Two Children Found Deceased
Gwent Police have confirmed the launch of a murder inquiry after a mother and her two children were found dead at an address in Newport.
Officers were called to Arundel Road in the Bettws area of the city shortly before 10:45 BST on Tuesday morning due to a report of a welfare concern. Upon arrival, emergency services located a 38-year-old woman, an 11-year-old girl, and a three-year-old boy deceased inside the property.
A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently in police custody. Authorities have stated they are not seeking anyone else in relation to the deaths at this time.
Chief Superintendent Mark Warrender stated that the investigation is in its early stages and that police will remain at the scene to conduct enquiries.
