Nicola Sturgeon, Michael Gove Participate in UK-Russia War Simulation
Former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Cabinet Office Minister Michael Gove are set to participate in a simulated scenario depicting a Russian attack on the United Kingdom. Sturgeon will assume the role of deputy prime minister, while Gove will act as the prime minister in the exercise, which is being produced for television.
The 'wargame' is designed to test the resilience of a fictional UK government under extreme pressure, simulating complex decision-making processes in response to a military incursion. Participants will navigate a series of escalating events, involving responses from both civilian leadership and military commanders.
This initiative follows a trend of public figures engaging in hypothetical crisis simulations, often providing a controlled environment to explore policy responses to severe geopolitical threats. While framed as entertainment, such programmes frequently draw on the expertise of defence and foreign policy specialists.
