Nigel Farage Purchased Surrey Property for £1.4 Million With 'I'm a Celebrity' Earnings
Nigel Farage acquired a £1.42 million house in Surrey in May 2024, utilising earnings from his participation in ITV's 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here', according to Reform UK.
This disclosure emerged as Sky News reported on Farage's property acquisition, shortly after he received a £5 million payment from Christopher Harborne, a prominent Reform donor. Land registry documents confirm the cash purchase of the Surrey property on 10 May 2024, without a mortgage.
The £5 million payment from Mr Harborne, a Thailand-based British businessman, to Mr Farage on 5 April 2024, has drawn the attention of the Parliamentary Standards Commissioner. Parliamentary rules mandate that new Members of Parliament declare all donations received within 12 months prior to election. This payment was not initially declared by Mr Farage and only became public knowledge after media reports.
Reform UK maintains that the £5 million sum was a personal, unconditional gift intended for Farage's security, and therefore did not require declaration. However, the party has stressed that the property purchase was entirely separate from Harborne's gift, confirming that the funds originated from Farage's reported seven-figure fee for the reality television programme, where he finished in third place in December 2023.
Mr Harborne, who has since become Reform's largest donor with an additional £12 million contribution in 2025, stated in April that he provided the gift 'because of my great admiration for the decades of work he had done to achieve Brexit' and 'wasn't expecting anything in return apart from ensuring his safety'. Mr Farage has publicly asserted the payment was a 'reward for campaigning for Brexit' and expressed no concern regarding the ongoing inquiry.
