Passenger Held by Wife as Ryanair Jet Window Ruptures Mid-Flight
A Ryanair passenger was nearly pulled from an aircraft window that reportedly ruptured mid-flight, prompting his wife to hold onto his legs for approximately five minutes, according to official accounts.
The incident took place on a flight from Manchester to Faro, Portugal. Passengers described a sudden decompression and a gaping hole appearing in the window next to the man's seat. He was reportedly partially pulled from the aircraft before his wife intervened.
Ryanair flight FR2143 was forced to divert to Brest, France, following the emergency. Paramedics met the aircraft upon landing to assess the affected passenger, whose condition has not been fully disclosed.
This event highlights ongoing concerns about aviation safety standards. Ryanair has previously faced scrutiny regarding its maintenance and operational practices, although the airline maintains its commitment to safety protocols. The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) is expected to launch an investigation into the cause of the window failure.
