Peruvian Tourist Plane Crash Near Nazca Lines Kills Thirteen Occupants

A tourist aircraft has crashed near the Nazca Lines in Peru, claiming the lives of all thirteen individuals aboard. The Cessna 207, operated by Aero Santos, was undertaking a sightseeing flight over the renowned archaeological site when it went down in the Palpa district, Ica region.

Peruvian police officials confirmed that the victims included eleven tourists and two Peruvian crew members. Reports indicate the aircraft was attempting an emergency landing shortly after departing from Maria Reiche Newman airport in Nazca.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the crash. The Nazca Lines, a UNESCO World Heritage site, attract significant numbers of international visitors annually, drawn by the ancient geoglyphs etched into the desert floor.
