Polish Security Services Apprehend Teenager Over Alleged Russian Sabotage Plot
Polish security services have detained a 17-year-old on suspicion of conducting sabotage operations for Russia. The individual, a Polish national, is alleged to have participated in a campaign orchestrated by Russian intelligence to inflame ethnic tensions between Poland and Ukraine.
The internal security agency, ABW, stated that the teenager’s activities included placing anti-Ukrainian posters in public spaces in Wrocław and Kraków, and setting fire to vehicles in those cities. These actions, reportedly paid for by Russian agents, were intended to destabilise relations and create social unrest within Poland.
This arrest follows a pattern of alleged Russian interference, with Warsaw consistently highlighting such efforts as part of a broader strategy to undermine European solidarity, particularly concerning support for Ukraine. The Polish government maintains that such covert operations are a direct challenge to national security and regional stability.
