Prime Minister Burnham Travels to Kyiv, Reaffirms United Kingdom's Ukraine Support

Prime Minister Andy Burnham has embarked on his inaugural foreign visit, travelling to Kyiv to reaffirm the United Kingdom's steadfast backing for Ukraine. The visit underscores the continuity of Western policy, which has seen considerable financial and military aid channelled to Kyiv, notably including advanced weaponry.

Burnham is expected to engage with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, with discussions anticipated to centre on ongoing military assistance and long-term support for Ukraine's resistance. This engagement occurs against the backdrop of heightened rhetoric from Moscow, which recently issued warnings regarding the alleged use of British-supplied drones by Ukrainian forces, threatening unspecified “consequences”.
