Reform Senedd Member Cai Parry-Jones Subjected to Death Threat, Police Investigate
Cai Parry-Jones, a Reform Party Senedd member, has alerted Dyfed-Powys Police to a reported death threat targeting him and his family. The alleged threat emerged following a social media post shared by Mr Parry-Jones, which concerned an asylum seeker at a hotel in Llanelli.
Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed on Monday that they are actively investigating the complaint. A spokesperson stated, "Dyfed-Powys Police received a report of a threat made to a Senedd member and his family on Monday, 22 April. Enquiries are ongoing."
Mr Parry-Jones indicated the threat was made via a voice note sent to his personal phone on 22 April. He highlighted that the voice note contained graphic language, including detailed threats of violence against him and his relatives. "The individual described how they would kill me and my family in detail, which I found particularly distressing," Mr Parry-Jones stated.
The Senedd member explained that the threat appeared to be a direct response to his social media post, which referenced an individual staying at the Stradey Park Hotel. He had previously raised concerns regarding the hotel's proposed use for asylum seekers.
