Reform UK Member Helen Jenner Condemned at Eisteddfod for Party Affiliation

Reform UK Member of the Senedd, Helen Jenner, has stated she was told she had 'no right' to be present at the National Eisteddfod of Wales. The politician claimed attendees confronted her at the cultural festival in Llŷn and Eifionydd, condemning her for her affiliation with Reform UK.

Ms Jenner recounted that individuals approached her, demanding to know why she was there and asserting she should not attend due to her political alignment. She described the experience as a clear act of hostility, stating, 'I was told I had no right to be there.' The Eisteddfod is traditionally regarded as an apolitical event, celebrating Welsh culture, language, and arts.

The incident raises questions about the political neutrality of traditionally inclusive cultural gatherings in Wales and the treatment of representatives from parties perceived as outside the mainstream consensus.
