Reform UK Reports Green Party Leader Zack Polanski to Police Over Instagram Post
Reform UK has formally reported Green Party co-leader Zack Polanski to the Metropolitan Police following an Instagram post that displayed a man wearing a top featuring the name 'Nigel' alongside an image of a guillotine. The political party asserted that the post constituted an incitement to violence against its honorary president, Nigel Farage.
Mr Polanski, who holds the position of Deputy Leader for the Green Party, removed the post and issued an apology, characterising it as 'clumsy and ill-judged'. He clarified that he was not the individual depicted in the photograph, which was taken at a festival and had been circulating on social media. Mr Polanski stated his regret for sharing the image, acknowledging that it could be misinterpreted and stressing that he did not condone violence.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed that a complaint had been received regarding a social media post and that enquiries were underway to assess the matter. Reform UK indicated it had provided supporting evidence to the police and called for a thorough investigation into what it described as a 'sinister' and 'appalling' incident. The party underscored the seriousness of what it perceived as a threat against Mr Farage.
