Reform UK Secures Second £36 Million Donation From Cryptocurrency Investor
Reform UK has announced a second significant donation of £36 million, this time from cryptocurrency investor Christopher Harborne. This contribution directly matches the record-breaking sum provided by Ben Delo, also a cryptocurrency investor, just two days prior.
The two substantial donations, totalling £72 million, provide Reform UK with considerable financial backing ahead of the upcoming general election. The party's leader, Richard Tice, highlighted the donations as a demonstration of trust in Reform UK's economic and political agenda.
Mr Harborne, who previously donated £10 million to the Brexit Party and stood as a candidate for them in 2019, cited dissatisfaction with the current political landscape and the Conservative Party's direction as motivations for his donation. He expressed a belief that Reform UK offers a viable alternative for voters.
The Electoral Commission will formally register both donations, subject to standard verification processes. This funding boost enables Reform UK to expand its campaign efforts, including increased advertising and candidate support, potentially influencing the electoral contest.
