Rolls-Royce Unveils Exclusive Electric Two-Seater, Project Nightingale
Luxury marque Rolls-Royce has unveiled Project Nightingale, an exquisite new two-seater electric convertible. This highly exclusive model will see just 100 units meticulously hand-built at the company's headquarters in Goodwood, West Sussex, with deliveries anticipated to begin in 2028.
Pioneering Electric Luxury
The pure-electric powertrain promises a driving experience with virtually no mechanical noise. This launch comes shortly after Rolls-Royce adjusted its previous commitment to selling only electric vehicles from 2030, confirming it will continue to offer petrol engine models beyond that date.
Project Nightingale measures an impressive 5.76 metres, comparable in length to the flagship Phantom saloon. Its design draws inspiration from the brand's experimental EX models of the 1920s and the Art Deco era, featuring a long bonnet that contributes to its distinctive “torpedo-shaped form.”
Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, stated, “Some of the most discerning Rolls-Royce clients in the world asked us for our most ambitious work. We responded by bringing three things together that have never co-existed in our brand: the complete design freedom of coachbuilding, our powerful, near-silent all-electric powertrain, and a uniquely potent yet serene expression of open-top motoring.” He further described Project Nightingale as the “most extravagant expression of what Rolls-Royce is capable of today.”
While specific pricing remains undisclosed, the company indicated that Project Nightingale would sit between its Private Commission and Coachbuild offerings, which have been estimated to exceed £500,000 and £20 million respectively.
