Russell Brand Accused of Requesting Female Fan Phone Numbers by Former Assistant at High Court
Russell Brand's former assistant, Helen Berger, told the High Court that the comedian frequently instructed her to collect contact details from female admirers. Her testimony detailed a pattern of behaviour that ultimately led her to resign from her position.
Ms Berger, who worked for Brand between 2006 and 2007, elaborated on the alleged requests during cross-examination. She explicitly stated Brand would ask her to approach women in the audience or at events and secure their phone numbers. She told the court, "I was just sick of him, frankly," when questioned about her reasons for leaving the role.
The claims surfaced during a preliminary hearing concerning a separate legal action brought by a woman alleging sexual assault against Brand. This ongoing civil case is one of several accusations of sexual misconduct that have emerged against the entertainer.
