Sinn Féin Deputy First Minister O'Neill Responds to Jeffrey Donaldson Arrest

Michelle O'Neill, Northern Ireland's Deputy First Minister, has voiced strong condemnation regarding the arrest and charging of former Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) leader Jeffrey Donaldson. Speaking publicly, Ms O'Neill stated that those who worked alongside Mr Donaldson are 'floored, shocked and utterly repulsed' by the revelations.

Mr Donaldson, a prominent figure in Northern Irish politics for decades, was charged with historical sexual offences. Following his arrest, the DUP confirmed his immediate resignation as party leader and suspended his membership. A 57-year-old woman has also been charged in connection with the same investigation.
