Swedish Man Jailed Four Years for Coercing Wife into Sex with 120 Men
A 61-year-old Swedish man has been sentenced to four years and five months in prison for coercing his wife into providing sexual services to more than 120 men. The court found he controlled her through threats of violence and security cameras.
He was convicted of offences including attempted rape, aggravated pimping, assault, and unlawful threats following a trial in Härnösand, on Sweden's eastern coast. The court also convicted 28 other men of purchasing sexual acts and services.
The man, from the Swedish province of Ångermanland, consistently denied wrongdoing, claiming he only helped organise consensual encounters. However, prosecutors successfully argued he had “ruthlessly exploited” the woman. Neither individual has been publicly identified.
Prosecutors detailed that the man began forcing his wife into sex with other men in exchange for payment in 2022, ceasing only when she reported him to police in October 2025. He used drugs, the remote location of their Kramfors farm, her limited social network, and surveillance cameras to exert control. He also threatened to kill her, pour petrol on her, burn her, and cut off her fingers.
The court ruled that the man had “influenced and induced his wife to perform sexual acts on herself, broadcast them online, receive additional sex buyers and try to get neighbours and customers to have sex with her,” often through “prolonged nagging and with unpleasant and condescending language.” He initiated the sale of her sexual services and managed most of the business.
While 120 men were identified, only 29 faced charges, with 28 convicted of collectively purchasing 56 sexual services. Two received prison sentences, the rest suspended sentences or probation. The court dismissed eight rape counts, unable to establish involuntary participation, but convicted the man on one count of attempted rape. He was also ordered to pay the woman 200,000 krona (ÂŁ15,900) in damages.
