
Teenage Boy Dies in Stafford After Falling Tree Strikes Holmcroft Road Incident
A teenage boy was killed on Saturday evening after a falling tree struck him in Stafford. Emergency services, including paramedics and an air ambulance, were dispatched to Holmcroft Road shortly after 18:30 BST.
Staffordshire Police confirmed that despite efforts, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene by 19:30. His family has been informed.
A police cordon remains in place as inquiries into the incident continue. On Sunday, several floral tributes were left at the site.
St Bertelin's Church Stafford opened its doors for community support following its morning service. Tributes have circulated online, with the teenager remembered as a "lovely polite gentle soul" and Stafford Rangers FC expressing their condolences to the family and friends affected by the "heartbreaking" loss.
The Stafford & District Sunday Football League announced that a minute's silence would be observed before all matches on Sunday.
