Teenager Receives Four-Year Detention Order for Stabbing Teacher at Milford Haven School

A teenager has received a four-year detention order after admitting to stabbing a teacher in the head at Milford Haven Comprehensive School. The assault, which occurred on 26 September last year, left Ms Vicki Williams fearing for her life.

During the sentencing at Swansea Crown Court, the court heard that the pupil, who cannot be named for legal reasons, attacked Ms Williams with a kitchen knife following an argument over confiscated items. The teacher sustained a 4cm laceration to her forehead, requiring hospital treatment, and has since endured ongoing psychological trauma.

The court was informed that the pupil, then 15 years old, had brought the knife to school. Following the incident, he was arrested and later admitted guilt to unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Judge Geraint Walters noted the severe impact on Ms Williams, acknowledging her bravery and the wider distress caused within the school community. The detention order mandates that the pupil will serve half of the four-year term in custody and the remainder on licence.
