Thirty-Three British Nationals Missing in Nepal Following Rasuwa Flash Floods

Nepalese authorities have confirmed 33 British nationals are unaccounted for following extensive flash floods and mudslides in the country's Rasuwa region. The catastrophe, which struck on Wednesday morning, has claimed the lives of at least 95 people, according to Nepali police.

The affected area in Rasuwa, a district frequented by trekkers, saw homes and infrastructure obliterated by torrents of water and debris. Local emergency services, supported by military units, are conducting search and rescue operations, contending with difficult terrain and ongoing risks of further landslides.

The British Foreign Office has stated it is in contact with Nepalese authorities and is providing consular assistance to families of those missing. The precise number of foreign nationals affected remains fluid, as communication in remote areas is severely disrupted.
