Trump Media Faces Lawsuit Over Truth Social Early Access to Market-Moving Posts
Trump Media & Technology Group, the entity behind Truth Social, is embroiled in a legal challenge brought by Patrick Orlando, a former associate and early investor. Orlando's lawsuit contends that Truth Social initiated a programme granting a select group of users advance access to Donald Trump's posts, which often have a demonstrable impact on stock market values.
This alleged 'VIP access' arrangement, according to the legal filing, permitted these privileged individuals to act upon the information contained within Trump's posts prior to their general publication. Such a practice could raise questions regarding market manipulation and equitable access to information that affects financial markets, particularly given Trump's significant public profile and influence.
The lawsuit underscores the continuing scrutiny surrounding Trump Media's business practices and its efforts to monetise access to the former President's public statements. The company has not yet issued a public response to the allegations.
