TUI River Cruise Passengers Report Sweltering Cabins, Persistent Sanitation Issues
TUI river cruise passengers have recounted journeys plagued by persistent mechanical failures, including widespread air conditioning malfunctions and sanitation problems, transforming anticipated luxury breaks into what many described as deeply unpleasant experiences. Multiple accounts from individuals on various TUI vessels detail issues such as cabin temperatures reaching up to 30 degrees Celsius, alongside non-functional toilets.
One couple, who paid in excess of £4,000 for a trip through Germany and Austria on the TUI Maya, reported their cabin's air conditioning was inoperative for the entire seven-day duration. They recounted sleeping on deck due to the intense heat within their cabin. This was not an isolated incident; other passengers on different TUI river cruises, including one on the TUI Skyla, corroborated similar experiences of stifling heat and broken facilities.
Another passenger described a cruise where all toilets on one deck were out of order for a significant period. Despite formal complaints and demands for partial refunds, many passengers state TUI's responses have been unsatisfactory, with some only offered nominal vouchers for future travel. These reports underscore a pattern of operational shortcomings across TUI's river cruise offerings, casting doubt on the advertised standard of their 'premium' holidays.
