
Two Rescued After Aircraft Emergency Landing Off Welsh Coast Near Porthcawl
Two people have been rescued and subsequently taken to hospital following an emergency landing by a light aircraft in the Bristol Channel, off the coast of Porthcawl, South Wales. The incident occurred approximately two miles from the shoreline.
Emergency services, including the Penarth RNLI lifeboat crew and a Coastguard helicopter, responded to the distress call on Saturday morning. The occupants were recovered from the aircraft and brought ashore at Porthcawl.
A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed that both individuals were transported to the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend for assessment and treatment. Details regarding their condition have not been released.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has been informed of the incident, indicating a potential inquiry into the circumstances leading to the emergency landing. The aircraft type and its departure point have not been publicly disclosed.
