Virgin Aircraft Technician Dies From Traumatic Brain Injury Sustained at Heathrow

Georgie Buxton, a 24-year-old Virgin Atlantic aircraft technician, passed away on 7 July after sustaining a traumatic brain injury at Heathrow Airport nearly a month prior.

Ms Buxton was injured on 11 June and subsequently died at St Mary's Hospital. Her employer, Virgin Atlantic, confirmed her death, stating she was a “much-loved” member of their engineering team at Heathrow.

The Metropolitan Police stated officers were called to the scene following reports of a woman injured at a commercial property in Shoreham Road, Heathrow. Emergency services, including paramedics, attended. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed and is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Ms Buxton's death. A spokesperson for the HSE confirmed they are making enquiries into the incident.

A Virgin Atlantic spokesperson expressed profound sadness at Ms Buxton’s passing, highlighting the support being provided to her family and colleagues during this difficult period. They reiterated cooperation with the investigation.
