
Wolverhampton House Fire: Woman Released on Bail After Deaths of Two Boys, Ages One and Three
A woman, arrested on suspicion of causing or allowing the deaths of two children in a Wolverhampton house fire, has been granted police bail. The incident occurred on Friday, with emergency services responding to a blaze in Mason Street at approximately 20:30 BST.
Firefighters successfully entered the property, rescuing the two young boys. However, the one-year-old and three-year-old succumbed to their injuries at the scene.
The suspect, a woman in her 30s, was taken into custody on Saturday. Two other children and an adult female had exited the house before the arrival of emergency services. They received medical assessment from ambulance staff but did not require hospital treatment.
Detective Chief Inspector Kylie Westlake characterised the deaths as a "truly tragic incident," conveying condolences to those affected. Authorities are currently conducting investigations to determine the precise circumstances surrounding the fire and have urged individuals with relevant information to come forward.
