Woman Shot Dead Outside Sheffield City Centre Bar, Three Arrested
A 30-year-old woman succumbed to her injuries after a shooting incident outside a Sheffield city centre bar. Emergency services found the woman seriously injured outside One Four One on West Street around 02:45 BST on Monday. She received treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital, where she later passed away.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed the arrest of three individuals in connection with the fatality. A 30-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were apprehended near Stockport, Greater Manchester, during the early hours, while another 30-year-old man was arrested in Sheffield. All three remain in custody for questioning.
Assistant Chief Constable Colin McFarlane described the event as a "devastating incident" occurring during a bank holiday weekend. He urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward, noting the area's typical high footfall on a bank holiday and expressing confidence that witnesses or those with knowledge of the perpetrators exist.
The affected stretch of West Street, usually bustling, has been cordoned off since the incident, with forensic teams conducting investigations at the scene, marked by a significant presence of police tape and evidence markers.
