Sir Jeffrey Donaldson Denies Seeking to 'Nip in the Bud' Abuse Allegations at Armoy Meeting

Former DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, 63, has denied attempting to pre-empt sexual abuse allegations during a meeting in the late 1990s with one of his two accusers. Giving evidence at Newry Crown Court, Sir Jeffrey rejected prosecution claims that he attended the meeting to 'nip in the bud' concerns, insisting he was unaware it concerned allegations against him. He faces 18 charges, including rape, allegedly committed between 1985 and 2008.
