Dan Walker Tribunal: Former Co-host Alleges Bullying
Dan Walker Faces Tribunal Over Bullying Allegations
Prominent television presenter Dan Walker is scheduled to appear before an employment tribunal following a formal complaint by his former Channel 5 News co-host, Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije. The claim alleges that Ms Vanderpuije experienced bullying during her tenure.
According to her legal representative, Jonathan Coad, the lawsuit also names ITN, the production company behind Channel 5 News, and Paramount, Channel 5's parent company, as respondents. Furthermore, ITN CEO Rachel Corp is listed in the proceedings. Initial reports from The Mail on Sunday indicate that allegations of sexism and misogyny have also been made against Mr Walker.
An ITN spokesperson has emphatically stated that the claim is "denied in full", confirming that the matter will be addressed through the tribunal process. It is understood that a prior internal investigation into claims against Mr Walker found no misconduct.
The tribunal is slated to commence in London on 20th April and is expected to last for five weeks. Mr Walker, who joined Ms Vanderpuije as a co-host on Channel 5 News in 2022, is reported to deny all allegations, with over 50 character witness statements supporting his position.
