Doncaster Collision Kills Two, Injures Two After Vehicle Strikes Pedestrians
Two individuals have died and a further two sustained injuries after a vehicle mounted a kerb on White Rose Way in Doncaster, striking a group of pedestrians. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday at approximately 14:30 BST, saw the vehicle subsequently collide with two other cars.
South Yorkshire Police confirmed the fatalities, identifying the deceased as a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman. Two other pedestrians, a 35-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman, were hospitalised with injuries described as not life-threatening. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in police custody.
Emergency services, including air ambulance personnel, attended the incident near the Woodfield Plantation junction. White Rose Way was closed for several hours as forensic collision investigation work was undertaken. Authorities have appealed for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the incident or the moments leading up to it to come forward.
