Driver Charged After Two Cyclists Killed in Kent Road Collision
A 30-year-old man faces charges of causing death by dangerous driving after two cyclists were killed in a road collision in Kent. The incident occurred on the A28 at Island Road, near Hersden, on the evening of Saturday, 17th February.
Kent Police confirmed that the driver, from Ramsgate, was arrested and subsequently charged. He is scheduled to appear at Folkestone Magistrates' Court on Monday, 19th February.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and the air ambulance, attended the scene following reports of the collision. Two men, both cyclists, were pronounced deceased at the location.
The A28 was closed for several hours as specialist investigators conducted enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident. The police have appealed for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
