EastEnders Actor Shane Richie Charged with Drink-Driving After Essex Arrest

Shane Richie, who portrayed Alfie Moon in the long-running soap opera *EastEnders*, faces a drink-driving charge. Essex Police confirmed the arrest of the 62-year-old at a petrol station in Wickford on Sunday, 18th August.

A spokesperson for Essex Police stated, "Officers arrested a 62-year-old man on suspicion of drink-driving at a petrol station in Colchester Road, Wickford, at around 1.30am on Sunday, 18 August." The statement continued, "Shane Richie, 62, of High Road, Repton Park, Woodford Green, was later charged with drink-driving."

Mr. Richie has been released on bail and is mandated to attend Southend Magistrates' Court on 25th September to address the charge. The actor's publicist has not yet issued a comment regarding the incident.
