Elizabeth Quigley Departs Corporation After 27 Years Due to Multiple Sclerosis Pain

Elizabeth Quigley, the wife of Scottish First Minister John Swinney, has announced her departure from the public broadcaster after a career spanning almost 27 years. Her decision is attributed to chronic pain stemming from her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

Quigley, 53, began experiencing symptoms consistent with MS over two decades ago and received a formal diagnosis in 2020. She stated that her health condition has made it increasingly challenging to continue her professional responsibilities.

Her career included a role as a press officer for the Scottish National Party (SNP) before she transitioned to a position with the public broadcaster. Quigley's husband, John Swinney, assumed the role of Scottish First Minister last month.
