
Fatal Hit-and-Run Near Edinburgh Airport: Police Hunt Three Suspects
Police Scotland have launched an extensive search operation after a fatal hit-and-run incident near Edinburgh Airport. The collision, involving a silver Ford Focus, occurred on the A902 Maybury Road around 02:40 BST today, resulting in the death of a 38-year-old male driver.
Emergency services attended the scene, but the driver was pronounced dead. Three occupants of the Ford Focus reportedly exited the vehicle following the crash and fled on foot in the direction of the airport.
Police resources, including a dog unit and a helicopter, have been deployed to locate the suspects. The A902 Maybury Road and the A8 Glasgow Road have been closed between the Maybury and Barnton junctions to facilitate investigation work and the ongoing search. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
Chief Inspector Peter Houston stated that efforts are concentrated on tracing the three individuals. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage who were in the area at the time to come forward with information.
