Former Swansea Police Officer Charged with Rape and Intentional Strangulation

A former police constable, Rikki Hall, has been formally charged with two counts of rape and one count of intentional strangulation. The charges stem from an alleged incident involving a woman in Swansea during Hall's period of active duty.

Hall, aged 37, appeared before Swansea Magistrates' Court on 25 April. The charges specify that the alleged offences occurred on 28 January 2024.

The court heard that Hall, whose address was given as Penderyn, Rhondda Cynon Taf, was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear at Swansea Crown Court on 28 May.

South Wales Police confirmed Hall's dismissal from the force prior to the court proceedings, following an internal conduct process. This development places further scrutiny on police accountability mechanisms, particularly concerning alleged misconduct by officers.
