Legoland Windsor Evacuates Patrons Following Local Burst Water Main Incident
Legoland Windsor was compelled to evacuate patrons on Sunday afternoon due to a substantial burst water main affecting the local area. The incident, which occurred off Legoland Way in Windsor, led to a complete loss of water supply for the theme park, making continued operation unviable.
Staff confirmed that all visitors were safely escorted from the premises. Many families reported being halfway through their day at the popular attraction when the closure was announced, causing considerable disruption to their plans.
Thames Water, the utility provider, acknowledged the major pipeline burst and stated that engineers were on site working to isolate the damaged section and restore supply. The company indicated that the repair work was complex and could extend into Monday. This infrastructure failure highlights the vulnerability of local services to unforeseen utility issues, directly impacting large-scale commercial operations and public leisure activities.
