
Motorcycle Rider Dies in Oliver's Mount Race Incident
A motorcycle rider has died after a serious incident during a race competition at Oliver's Mount, Scarborough. The man, aged in his 30s, was competing in the prestigious Bob Smith Spring Cup when he came off his Kawasaki motorcycle at approximately 15:20 BST on Saturday.
North Yorkshire Police confirmed the rider was pronounced deceased at the scene. His family has been informed, and thoughts are with them during this difficult period.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Authorities are urging any spectators who witnessed the incident, or possess information or social media footage that could aid the investigation, to come forward. A police spokesperson stated, "If you witnessed the incident or have any information or social media footage that may assist the investigation, please contact us."
Oliver's Mount is widely recognised as England's sole natural road racing circuit, situated just outside Scarborough town centre. The 2.43-mile coastal track is renowned for being a challenging, tight, and twisty circuit, often drawing comparisons to a smaller Isle of Man TT.
