
Northern Ireland Fire Service Responds to Over 300 Calls in Seven Hours
Northern Ireland's fire and rescue service (NIFRS) responded to more than 300 emergency calls between 17:00 BST and midnight. This surge in activity included a substantial fire involving a row of terraced houses in Greenisland, Carrickfergus.
The incident on Upper Road, Greenisland, escalated to affect multiple properties, two oil tanks, and a shed. Firefighters deployed six pumping appliances and a command support unit to manage the blaze.
Emergency services received the initial call regarding the Greenisland fire shortly after 19:30 BST, with crews remaining on site throughout the evening to bring the situation under control and conduct damping down operations.
