Nurse Convicted After Violent Parking Dispute
A nurse has been found guilty of assaulting her neighbour and using violence to gain entry to their home, stemming from a dispute over parking. Christine Sharman, 69, of Llan Ffestiniog, Gwynedd, was convicted at Caernarfon Magistrates' Court following an incident on 25 July 2025.
The court heard that Sharman confronted her neighbours, Alun and Jane Jones, after Alun parked his vehicle outside her residence. Following an initial refusal by Alun Jones to move the car, Sharman forcibly entered the property when Jane Jones answered a subsequent knock. Jane Jones testified that Sharman "came in with a lunge" and delivered a "punch in the chest with a closed fist".
CCTV footage presented to the court depicted Sharman approaching the neighbours' door in an agitated manner. Despite Sharman's defence, where she claimed she "didn't assault anyone" and cited her professional background as a "caring and compassionate" nurse, magistrates found Jane Jones's testimony credible.
Sentencing for Sharman has been scheduled for 11 May.
