
Police Constable Denies Causing Death of 16-Year-Old Ryley Hutson in E-Bike Collision
Police Constable Daniel Rayson, 32, has entered a not guilty plea to a charge of causing death by careless driving. The charge relates to the death of 16-year-old Ryley Hutson, who was pronounced dead at the scene following a collision involving an electric bike on 21st July 2023.
The incident occurred on High Street in Arnold, Nottingham. PC Rayson, who serves with Nottinghamshire Police, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for the plea hearing.
Judge Stuart Rafferty KC scheduled the trial to commence on 2nd June 2025. The proceedings are anticipated to last up to five days.
