Reform UK Councillor George Madgwick Charged with 35 Sexual Offences, Including 12 Rapes

George Madgwick, a serving Reform UK councillor for Winchester City Council, faces 35 charges related to sexual offences, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed. The charges include 12 counts of rape, alongside offences of sexual assault, sexual assault by penetration, and false imprisonment.

Mr Madgwick, who represents The Worthys ward, was arrested in July 2022. Following an investigation by Hampshire Police, a file was submitted to the CPS for review. He is expected to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court on 25 June.

Reform UK stated they had suspended Mr Madgwick as soon as they were informed of the charges. Mr Madgwick remains listed as a councillor on Winchester City Council's website, having been elected to his position in May 2021.
