Sally-Anne Bowen Convicted of Seven Indecent Assault Counts Against Pupils

Sally-Anne Bowen, a 65-year-old former teacher, was convicted at Harrow Crown Court on seven counts of indecent assault. The assaults were committed against two female pupils during the 1980s.

Bowen, who taught at two London schools, denied the charges, claiming the pupils had fabricated the allegations. However, the jury returned guilty verdicts after deliberating for 12 hours.

The court heard evidence from the victims, now adults, who detailed the abuse. The prosecution successfully argued that Bowen, in a position of trust, exploited her authority over the minors.

Sentencing has been adjourned until 26 July for a pre-sentence report. Bowen remains on conditional bail until that date.
