Dame Jenni Murray Died Eight Days After Norfolk Road Collision, Inquest Confirms

A recent inquest has confirmed that Dame Jenni Murray, the esteemed former presenter of Radio 4's Woman's Hour, died as a direct result of a road traffic collision in Norfolk. The incident, which occurred on 28 March, saw Dame Jenni's car involved in a shunt at a junction in Brancaster Staithe, King's Lynn.

Dame Jenni, aged 73, passed away eight days later, on 5 April, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn. Assistant coroner Christopher Leach stated that medical evidence established a clear causal link between the collision and her subsequent death.

The inquest at Norfolk Coroner's Court was adjourned to a later date, pending further investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The initial hearing focused on identifying the cause of death rather than assigning culpability for the collision itself.
