
Sheffield Police Confirm Infant Stabbed to Death at Home Address
South Yorkshire Police confirmed on Wednesday that a baby girl discovered deceased at a Sheffield residence was stabbed. Officers were dispatched to an address in Gregg House Road, Shiregreen, at approximately 07:30 BST on Friday, 21 May, following reports of concerns for a child's safety.
Upon arrival, emergency services found the infant and pronounced her dead at the scene. A 31-year-old man was apprehended on suspicion of murder shortly thereafter. He remains in custody.
The formal identification of the baby has not yet been publicly released, nor have details regarding the specific circumstances leading to the discovery.
