
Swiss Police Arrest 31-Year-Old After Three Stabbings at Winterthur Station
A 31-year-old Swiss national has been arrested following a stabbing incident at Winterthur train station that left three individuals injured. Police confirmed that the victims, Swiss nationals aged 28, 43, and 52, were hospitalised after the assault.
Authorities stated the suspect utilised a bladed weapon during the attack, which occurred around 08:30 local time. The motive for the incident remains under active investigation.
An eyewitness, employed in a nearby office building, reported hearing a man shout "Allahu Akbar" before he began attacking individuals with a knife. Local media accounts also described a school teacher protecting a group of schoolchildren who were passing through the area at the time of the incident. A taxi driver further recounted seeing a man indiscriminately attacking people in the station's underpass.
Swiss news outlets have published images showing various sections around the station cordoned off as part of the ongoing police operation.
