
Teenager Charged with Murder of 14-Year-Old in South-East London
A 16-year-old male from Romford has been formally charged with the murder of Eghosa Ogbebor, a 14-year-old boy who tragically died after a shooting incident in Woolwich. Police and paramedics were called to Lord Warwick Street at approximately 15:40 BST on 2 April, where Eghosa was discovered with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed the teenager, initially arrested on 4 April and subsequently re-arrested on Thursday, faces a charge of murder. He is expected to appear in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court on Saturday.
Ongoing Investigation
The investigation into Eghosa's death remains active, with several other individuals having been arrested in connection with the incident. A 19-year-old was previously arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 46-year-old man on suspicion of assisting an offender; both have been released on bail. Additionally, two boys aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man, were arrested on 3 April and also released on bail. Another 16-year-old boy, arrested on 10 April on suspicion of murder, remains in police custody.
