
Teenager Dies in Essex Dog Attack, Man Arrested
A 19-year-old woman has died after sustaining serious injuries in a dog attack at a house in Leaden Roding, a village near Dunmow, Essex.
Essex Police were called to Long Hide at approximately 22:45 BST on Friday. Despite the swift response and the best efforts of emergency services, the young woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A 37-year-old man from Dunmow has been arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control and causing injury resulting in death. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
The dog involved in the incident has been seized by authorities, and specialist officers ensured the safety of the scene. Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper expressed his condolences, stating, "My thoughts, and those of us all at Essex Police, are with the loved ones of the woman who died yesterday."
