
Teenagers Die in M1 Crash After Car Leaves Bridge
Fatal M1 Collision Claims Two Lives
Two teenagers have died after the car they were travelling in is believed to have left a road bridge and crashed into a minibus on the M1 motorway below. Leicestershire Police were alerted to the incident on the southbound carriageway near Lutterworth at approximately 13:35 BST on Friday.
The blue car, which was travelling along Gilmorton Lane, reportedly departed the road bridge, falling onto the motorway.
Both occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minibus and three passengers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital. The minibus driver has since been discharged, but three women remain in hospital receiving treatment.
Leicestershire Police are conducting extensive forensic investigations into the collision. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
