Three Arrested After Three-Month-Old Maggie-May Ann Moody Dies in Redcar Dog Attack
The family of Maggie-May Ann Moody, a three-month-old baby girl who died after a dog attack in Dormanstown, Redcar, on 9 April, has stated they have been “robbed of a beautiful lifetime and memories”. The family released a statement via Cleveland Police, describing Maggie-May as “everything to us”, adding: “She gave us meaning and purpose every day and we feel empty.”
Two men, aged 36 and 45, along with a 31-year-old woman, were arrested in connection with the infant’s death. All three have since been released on conditional bail. They face suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, resulting in death. The woman also faces a charge of child neglect.
Armed police attended the incident on Hardale Grove. Authorities confirmed that one dog was destroyed on the street and another inside the property. Police stated that neither animal was believed to be a prohibited breed.
Tributes, including flowers and soft toys, have been left at the scene. Maggie-May’s family confirmed they remained at her side in hospital, stating: “Her brother and sister adored little Maggie and will miss her dearly, as they had plans for the rest of their lives. Our lives will never be the same again, she will always be in our hearts.”
