Tony Livesey Departs Radio 5 Live After Sixteen Years Presenting Late-Night Slot

Tony Livesey, a familiar voice on Radio 5 Live for sixteen years, has announced he is leaving the station. Livesey had been the anchor of the station's late-night show since 2007. He ceased presenting the programme last month, at the time citing personal matters as the reason for his absence.

The move follows allegations of misconduct made against David Sullivan, Livesey's former editor at the Lancashire Telegraph newspaper in the 1990s. Sullivan has publicly denied these allegations. Livesey stated that the situation had created a conflict, making it untenable for him to continue in his broadcasting role.

Livesey's career includes working as a newspaper journalist before transitioning to radio. He co-presented the late-night show with Anna Foster, and previously with Colin Murray. His final broadcast for Radio 5 Live occurred on 23 May.
