UK Experiences Summer Warmth Return, Regional Rain Forecast This Week
A shift towards more summer-like weather is forecast for the UK this week, bringing a welcome increase in temperatures after a cooler period. Southern and eastern England are expected to see the mercury climb, potentially reaching 25C by Thursday.
However, this warmth will not be universal, nor will it be entirely dry. Western Scotland and Northern Ireland are predicted to experience continued unsettled conditions, with rainfall persisting through much of the week. Other areas across the country will likely see a mix of sunshine and occasional showers.
The change in weather patterns is attributed to a ridge of high pressure building across the country from the south. While this will usher in the warmer air, frontal systems moving in from the Atlantic will continue to influence northern and western regions, contributing to the localised rainfall.
As the week progresses, the likelihood of some showers extending further south, particularly by the weekend, cannot be ruled out. Nevertheless, the prevailing outlook suggests a notable increase in temperatures for many, marking a distinct change from the cooler conditions experienced recently.
