US Congressman Tom Tiffany Swims from Emergency Lake Landing in Wisconsin
US Representative Tom Tiffany, a Republican from Wisconsin, was involved in an emergency landing on Lake Wausau when the small plane he was travelling in experienced a mechanical issue. The incident occurred on Monday evening, forcing the pilot to execute an unexpected landing on the water.
Following the successful water landing, both Congressman Tiffany and the pilot were able to swim to the nearby shore without sustaining any injuries. Emergency services, including the Marathon County Sheriff's Office, responded to the scene, though no rescue operation was required for the occupants.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has confirmed it will investigate the incident. The specific nature of the mechanical fault that led to the emergency landing has not yet been disclosed.
