Woman Arrested Suspected of Harbouring Emmanuel Sakyi, Convicted Infant Killer
A 28-year-old woman was arrested in Southwark, south-east London, yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender. The arrest is connected to Emmanuel Sakyi, a 27-year-old man who remains wanted by authorities after being convicted of causing the death of his three-month-old son, Saleh, by dangerous driving.
Sakyi was driving a grey Volkswagen Golf on the A2 in Thamesmead, south-east London, when he collided with a minicab on 21 February 2020. His infant son, Saleh, was a passenger in his vehicle at the time and sustained fatal injuries.
In February 2024, Sakyi was convicted in absentia at Woolwich Crown Court of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving whilst uninsured. He was subsequently sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Despite the conviction and sentencing, Sakyi failed to appear for his court proceedings and has not been apprehended since. The Metropolitan Police continue to appeal for information regarding his whereabouts, stating that enquiries are ongoing to locate him.
